The Courage of Zach. By Abril Tzab Cuevas.

The courage of Zack

There was a little child, named Zack. He lived in the subway on the fourth

floor of a block of flats. Zack was unable to walk, but he had learned to  keep a positive attitude

 through his disability.

He wanted to attend school, but there was a problem to deal with!

In his school there was NO

ramps for wheelchairs, so his parents had no

intention to send him to school.

Zack completely disagreed with them, he didn’t feel

this was a disadvantage so he decided to sign up to

online courses and showed his parents that he could

finish college and become a great psychologist.

He knew that he couldn’t walk again or his disability

would never disappear, but he didn’t feel

uncomfortable about it.

When he finally finished his career, it was unbelievable for his parents.

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!! By Maricarmen Ramos García

 Dear Students:

In this space, you will be publishing best-written texts. Remember that to get your work published, you must turn in a rough draft in your notebook first.

Turn in your work on a Word document, using Arial size 12.  Try to find a picture that illustrates your text, and always sign your name at the bottom.  Don´t forget to give an appropriate title to your text, and participate in this blog by commenting on your classmates' posts.

If you are still developing your writing skills in the English Language, you can get sample language and content from the internet, as long as you copy it first by hand in your notebook, and mention the source where you got the information. By doing this, you will be reading and writing in English, acquiring the language that in the future you will be using actively.

Irish Singers. James Vincent McMorrow. By Abril Tzab Cuevas

 James Vicent McMorrow

James Vicent McMorrow is a forty-year-old billion-streaming, platinum-selling singer-songwriter

from Dublin Ireland.

A fact about him is that he was born in 1983 and his music is “Indie folk”!

He began his musical life when he was a teen! Initially a drummer, he was drawn to the harsh

sounds of Glassjaw. He mellowed some while he was at school, where he discovered the more

acoustic-oriented sounds of Sufjan Stevens. Then, he picked up the guitar at 19 and began

writing songs.

He decided to record an album, moving into a small house on

Ireland’s coastline and holding up his guitar, a keyboard, a microphone, a computer, and several other

instruments. This become his first album “Early in the Morning” which was greeted

with very favorable reviews, a top chart sport, a Choice Music nomination, platinum sales, and

appearances at Royal Festival Hall!

I admire him because of his successful musical life and his great

songs!

The Boston Marathon- By Luisa Blandón Díaz.

 Marathons

There are many well-known marathons around the world, and the Boston Marathon is one of the most important and recognized of them all.

It is the world’s oldest annual marathon, and the only one held on a Monday. Due to its historic importance, not everyone can sign up. The participant would have to have run a Boston qualifying time at least a year prior. Or they would have to be running for a fundraiser. Due to the marathon’s course, it doesn’t qualify for beating a world record. However, in 2011 Geoffrey Mutai won with a time of two hours, three minutes, and two seconds. Which was the fastest time then, but it did not qualify for a world record precisely because of said reason.

In conclusion, the Boston Marathon is very significant and recognized worldwide. Many people all around the world get together to either watch it or participate in it. It is definitely one you should not miss.

My Survival Story. By Luisa Blandón Díaz.

 Survival Story

Have you ever had a survival story? To be fair, I’ve always been one to explore the places I go to and interact with nature. Every time I’m at a beach, a forest, or even a farm, I’m always looking at animals and the different features that each place has. By this time, you would expect that I have a crazy survival story about a wild animal attack that I miraculously got out of. However, I unfortunately don’t have one; or at least not exactly. The closest anecdote I have of a life-threatening animal situation was on my grandparent’s farm.

It was a sunny day back in 2014 (approximately), we went to my grandparent’s farm and my grandad had said that we could ride one of his horses for the day. So obviously, I was the first one to want to ride it. It was a beautiful brown Peruvian horse called “Doña Ileana” if I remember correctly. I got on it and was led by Mr. Freddy, who was the one responsible for taking care of the horses and getting them in and out of the stables. It was all going very normal until suddenly out of the blue, a lizard went racing by below Doña Ileana. The horse jumped onto its two feet, and since the saddle was placed too loose, I ended up flying off into the ground just below the horse's hooves. I remember seeing the huge horse above me, and realizing that if it went down again, I could be crushed.

Thankfully, my parents got me out immediately and I was safe and sound, though terribly scared and in shock. It was a very scary situation, and I was very lucky that the horse stayed up for such a long time.

Irish Singers- Nial James Horan. By Luisa Blandón Díaz

  Irish Singers

I’m sure you’ve all once heard of the world-famous former boyband “One Direction”, and about one of its recognized members, now a celebrated superstar. Nial James Horan is an Irish singer and songwriter. He was born on September 13, 1993, to parents Maura Gallagher and Bobby Horan in Mullingar, Ireland.

At the age of 16, he auditioned for the television show The X Factor and was accepted into the following rounds. He entered the finals as a group with fellow singers Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne; who were the original members to form One Direction in later years, after winning third place in the show. Their first album, “Up All Night”, became a bestseller in the UK (2011) and the USA (2012). Their albums Take me home, Midnight Memories, and Four debuted atop the Billboard 200 charts.

Not long after releasing Made in the AM; in November of 2015, Horan, Payne, Styles, and Tomlinson split from the band indefinitely. Though this was not the end of Niall’s career. As he proceeded to pursue a soloist practice. Releasing his albums Flicker, Heartbreak Weather, and The Show. It is safe to say that Horan’s years in the industry are far from over, as he continues to succeed; and is loved and admired worldwide.

The Russian Sleep Experiment. A Halloween Story By Leonardo Arceo Peñalosa

 The Russian Sleep Experiment

The year was 1942, and the Soviets were conducting experiments with Nazi war

prisoners testing their new weapons. A Russian researcher just created a gas-based

stimulant that kept soldiers from the need to sleep. So the Soviets built an isolated

chamber monitored by cameras and microphones, the chamber was stocked with

books, beds, water, toilets, and enough food for at least 30 days. So this researcher's

goal was to prove that this new gas could keep soldiers fully awake for a month.

So the test began, and the prisoners hardly complained about the conditions of the

experiment since they were promised freedom if they could pass the entire 30 days

awake. Everything was fine for the first five days, their conversations kept getting

darker and darker, talking about the traumatic experiences of the war.

After 5 days they started demonstrating symptoms of severe paranoia, and they stopped

talking to each other and started whispering to the microphones.

After the ninth-day screams could be heard for hours until suddenly no sound from

the chamber could be heard. The researchers postulated that they had physically

torn their vocal cords

Three more days of complete silence went through and so the researchers started

checking hourly the microphones to make sure they were alive although there was no noise

was ever heard.

The next morning the researchers checked the oxygen levels and they were

surprised to see one subject wasn't breathing, so they decided to open the chamber

with the help of a military team.

They announced: “We are opening the chamber to test the microphones; step away

from the door or you will be shot. Compliance will earn you immediate freedom.

To everyone’s surprise, a really soft voice could be heard saying: “We no longer

want to be freed”

The chamber stopped pumping gas and immediately voices could be heard begging

for the gas to get back on, there was a terrible smell and the subjects could

immediately be heard screaming, and so were the soldiers when they saw what was

inside. Four subjects were still alive, although no one could rightly call them “alive”

The food rations were barely touched and there were chunks of meat from a test

subject blocking the drain of the chamber, allowing 50 centimeters of water to

accumulate. The subjects were missing parts of muscle and skin exposing their

bones that way, these wounds were most likely self-inflicted, and all the abdominal

organs of the subjects were missing. When the soldiers tried removing the subjects

from the chamber their throats were brutally ripped off. Shots were fired instantly and

they killed every test subject except one, the one that remained silent the entire time.

The researcher quickly grabbed a gun and pointed at him asking: “What are you?”

The subject smiled

“I am the madness that haunts you all, we are what you hide from every night, what

you sedate when you go to the nocturnal haven” The researcher fired at him and he

flatlined. The subject choking on his own blood said: “Finally… free…”

Super Foods . By Abril Tzab Cuevas.

 Superfoods

Every day, humans need to eat 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), but… do we

know what are we eating? Is it balanced? Is it healthy for our bodies? Well, in this essay,

I’m going to talk about one of my favorite dishes.

I’m going to talk about a food that I eat at lunch, this dish has meat, pasta, and

asparagus. I consider this a “superfood” because these 3 elements are in each

section from “The eat well plate”, except in the fruits section, but

you can also eat one after!

Now, I’m going to tell you why is healthy! The asparagus prevents

heart disease, helps the view, and… rejuvenating properties! The

meat is a protein source and gives you a lot of energy. And the

pasta has a lot of carbohydrates and proteins.

My conclusion is that “superfoods” are very healthy for our bodies

and also delicious. Humans need to eat all types of food to stay

healthy. We can also eat some “junk food” or some candy but not

in excess.

Humans need to eat healthily, exercise and have fun to have

a happy and healthy life!

Henry Ford. By Abril Tzab Cuevas

 Henry Ford

Henry Ford was a man who was born on July 30th, 1830 in Wayne County,

Michigan, US.

He got his first job at age 15, and he could disassemble and reassemble a watch,

giving him the opportunity to be a watch repairman.

His family worked on a farm, and he actually worked for a while there, but he

didn’t like the farm at all.

Henry invented a few machines that factories use nowadays, but the most

important invention was the Model T assembly line.

Ford lived the World War 1 and 2; he was a peaceful man so he didn’t like when America

got involved in those wars.

Famous Places Around the World. By Abril Tzab

 Hampton court palace

Schedule: 10:00 to 17:30.

Address: Hampton Ct Way, Molesey, East Molesey KT8 9AU, United Kingdom.

People can go to the maze, which has been immortalized in popular fiction from the

The Victorian novel “Three Men in a Boat”, by Jerome K. Jerome!

By the 1530s, Henry VIII’s Hampton Court was a palace, a hotel, a theatre, and a vast

leisure complex. The King used it to demonstrate magnificence and power in

every possible way, through lavish banquets, extravagant court life, and fabulously

expensive art!

The reason this place is famous is that when Henry VIII finished his building

program in around 1540, Hampton Court was the most modern, sophisticated, and

magnificent palace in England.

At some point during Henry VIII’s reign, all six of Henry’s wives visited Hampton Court and

most had new and lavish lodgings.

The Maze

The Hampton Court Palace Maze is the UK's oldest surviving hedge

maze. Commissioned around 1700 by William III, it covers a third of an

acre and is known for confusing and intriguing visitors with its many

twists, turns, and dead ends. On average, it takes 20 minutes to reach

the centre.

The Maze was designed by George London and Henry Wise and is

trapezoid in shape. Originally planted using hornbeam, it was later

replanted using yew. It is referred to as a multicursal or puzzle maze.

Before the creation of the Hampton Court Maze, unicursal or single-path

mazes were the most popular form of maze in the UK.

Unlike the puzzle maze, the single-path maze has one path, usually in a spiral

shape, winding to a centre point.

My Survival Story. By Jacobo Campos García

Jacobo Campos García 3ºB 14/6/2023

When I was 5 years old I cracked my arm: on that day I played sports, and we had to play tag with

a good ball.

They explained the rules of the game and we went out to a parking lot where cars were passing by

to pick us up when classes finished, the school started the game and I hadn't had to run the one

I was chasing my friend, I wasn't running in a straight line so he wouldn't catch me and

I just turned to see if he was behind me and he wasn't there.

I turned around again and hit my arm with a tree, the teacher grabbed my arm and took

me to the infirmary to have it checked and the nurse said that my arm would crack.

My mom came for me quickly and we didn't go to the hospital, they put it on me and

I spent a long time without moving it.

Michael Jackson´s Brief Facts. By Lupita Paredes Escalante

 Michael Jackson's brief facts

Michael Jackson was an ordinary boy until he started to sing with his

brothers, making him famous all around the world. There was much social

criticism about him during his adult age. People said that changing his skin color

was considered racism, among other bad things I don’t want to mention.

But like everyone, he has good and interesting facts. I don’t know if it’s true,

but he was vegetarian for a time. He was likable, polite, caring, kind, and

sensible with the people, he helped them in many ways and created very

incredible songs.

An Interview Report- By Lupita Paredes Escalante

I interviewed two classmates, their names are Julia and

Amber, they talked about sports.

Julia told me that she attended many sports

competitions, she won a prize, and she felt very excited.

She enjoys reading so much. And finally, she explained that,

sadly, she doesn’t have any favorite sport.

Amber told me that she doesn’t practice any sport, but she

would like to. She won a prize in a spelling bee and felt very

excited. Also told me she met a football player that went to our

school. She likes listening to music, it feels relaxing for her.

Finally, she told she used to practice taekwondo.

The Adolescent Period. By Lupita Paredes Escalante

 The adolescence period

I totally agree that adolescence is a period where the brain starts to

develop and hormonal changes occur.

Among the factors are social pressure and the feeling of acceptance of it that

they do these acts.

The adolescent brain is definitely not “mature” to consume these substances.

It can affect the development of vital organs such as the brain. Beginning to

drink before 16 can increase the risk of heart disease and psychological

problems such as aggressiveness, unstable mood, and memory problems.

Making Sense out of a List of Words. By Zamia Guerrero.

I know I am not in the position of making any sort of criticism towards this infamous individual. Still, given the circumstances and comments that had been previously made, I don’t think I can prolong any more silence.

This man is popularly known for being sympathetic in needed occasions that only assets his figure. But when it comes to women's rights he has a lack of sensitivity

Are we supposed to pretend egotism and sexism are typical behavior in a public figure like him that is supposed to influence the good?

We don't need their pity for an act of kindness. We only ask for politeness.

The Sahara Marathon. By Amber Bertens

 The Sahara Marathon

I really like the Sahara Marathon because I find it very amazing since it’s an ultramarathon

that is about 250 km, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons. This

marathon is held every year in Southern Morocco, in the Sahara Desert as the Marathon’s

name says. It was first established in 1986, which was 37 years ago. It surprises me how

many people can run this marathon since over 1,024 runners assist. The weather in the

Sahara Desert is extremely hot and people still manage to do the marathon, I think that is

very amazing. People even say it’s the toughest footrace on earth because it’s extremely

difficult to finish, but in 2019, 96% of the 783 runners completed the event.

The event is open to runners and walkers, with several stages, free style, and with food-self-

sufficiency. Experts recommend preparing yourself at least six months before the event

starts. You should aim to run 150 to 190 miles a week, increasing the distance as time goes

on!

Marathons. By Daniela Alam.

Marathons are something that doesn't seem like it, but they take a lot of effort.

Those who dedicate themselves to that take a long time of training. What is most needed, is good

physical condition and knowing how to breathe to be able to endure the length of the marathon.

There are marathons to marathons, those that are organized by a fundraiser that are more than

anything to raise money and are short, like 5 or a maximum of 10 kilometers, and marathons for

professionals that are already 41 kilometers.

So the thing that I found amazing about marathons is that anyone can participate, regardless of

gender or age, unless there are specifications. Another thing is that the places where they are

done are amazing and super beautiful because since they are 41 kilometers long, there are many

very beautiful landscapes and you can appreciate them while you run. Another thing is that even

people with disabilities can participate, even if there are some for them, they can still participate.

Thank you :)

The Boston Marathon. By Valeria Vanegas Camarena.

 BOSTON

Established in 1897, the Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual

marathon, and perhaps the only major marathon held on a Monday. It

is done every third Monday of April, which is Patriot’s Day in the US.

Boston is a very historic race that many runners across the world wish

to participate in, but it’s tough to get a spot. Unless you’re running to

raise money for charity, you’ll need to run a Boston Qualifying time (or

BQ) at a marathon sometime in the preceding year. The BQ standards

are held up as a measure of excellence in amateur marathoning, so

much so that many marathons with fast courses often advertise

themselves as Boston Qualifier courses.

Boston Marathon is a point-to-point and net-downhill course hence

does not meet the requirements set for courses eligible for the world

records.

In 2011, Kenya’s Geoffrey Mutai won the Boston Marathon with

2:03:02, which was the world’s fastest time then, but did not qualify as

a world record.

The 4 Deserts Ultramarathon Series. By Lupita Paredes Escalante.

 4 Deserts Ultramarathon

Have you heard of “The 4 Deserts”? It´s one of the toughest

competitions in the world that takes place in 7 days and 250

kilometers in the largest deserts on the planet.

Organized by the American company & Racing the Planet,

the competitors not only face extreme temperatures (which

can reach 50ºC or -30ºC) but it's also done self-sufficiently,

that is, they must carry their food and equipment . They are

only provided with hydration and a tent to sleep in.

It takes place in four deserts: in the Atacama, Chile, in the

Gobi, China, in the Sahara in Egypt and in Antarctica.

In addition to the wild conditions of the deserts, another of

the most impressive aspect is the beauty of the landscapes

of each one.

From the Atacama salt pans, home to colonies of pink

flamingos and sacred Inca sites, to the grasslands, steppes,

Ger villages and Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia, or the

world´s oldest desert and most giant dunes, in Namibia, to end

in the White Desert and its icebergs on the horizon of

Antarctica.

My Survival Story. By Ana Cecilia Yam Medina.

Once I was in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. My family decided to go to the movies at night around 9 o'clock and we went (but before continuing I am going to explain that most of the people who live there have a special channel, groups, or radio that tells you if there is a shooting) to the movies.

That's when we heard on the special channel that there was a shooting on a street where we were one block away, so what my dad did was turn it around and we continued normally and we got to the cinema in that period of finding a place, we began to hear bullets and we didn't know what to do but my dad told us to get out to go to the plaza and I was the last to get out.

Once out of the theater, at the mall, I saw a person running and suddenly they shot him and I got scared, I ran away but since I was little I didn't run fast and in that, I turned back and saw a dead person on the ground and I saw how they were aiming at me and that's when my brother grabbed me to one side and the bullet didn't hit me and then we went into the cinema and took refuge.

My Survival Story. BY Valeria Vanegas Camarena.

When I was 10 years old, on summer vacation I went with my dad

to Monterrey to visit my paternal family. After a few days, my

cousins and I decided to go camping in a forest that was near the

house my dad had rented. , we take everything we need for a

single night in the forest.

We got to the woods and put up our tents, built a fire, made

roasted bonbons; It was 12am and we were ready to sleep when

suddenly we started to hear that there was an animal outside the

tent, we all woke up and saw that there were two wolves, we

started to get scared and I started to call my dad but There was

no reception, we stayed for about 15 minutes waiting for the

wolves to leave but they were still out there, after a while the

signal from my cell phone grabbed and I spoke to my dad very

quickly.

After about 30 minutes my uncles and my father had come for us,

suddenly they began to scare the wolves away so that we could

leave the tent, when we finally managed to get out we went to the

house, but we had left everything there; The next day we

returned to the forest to pick up everything we had left, but we

realized that the wolves were still there but when we got a little

closer we saw that one of them was hurt, I tried to help him

because he had gotten stuck on a rock and his paw I couldn't

move it, all my cousins and uncles helped to lift the rock and the

two wolves ran out of there, nothing happened and we managed

to rescue a wolf.

My Survival Story. By Cristobal Sosa Pech

 MY SURVIVAL STORY

The beach is very beautiful but it can bring several inconveniences that can ruin the experience. What I lived that day is the closest thing to a survival story that I had

I was about 10 years old and I went to the beach on a weekend as I usually did, we got there, we put things down, we settled down and we couldn't even breathe before everything began to collapse, we didn't have water or electricity, we decided to go to the beach to stay there for a while, but the waves were very strong and there was so much wind that the sand was like bullets. We returned to the house and went to see what was happening with the water and electricity at CFE in progress but it turns out that they were remodeling or something like that so we couldn't, we went back and bathed in the pool but when we came back there wasn't enough food because 2 of my cousins who arrived wanted to eat with us, so the following meals we spent inventing combinations of meals to see what we could eat, that day my uncles made a bonfire and we went to take advantage of it to cook some things and it was the first time I tried the melted marshmallows with cookies, we spent all day outside the house until very late because there is a lot of humidity and it was unbearable. Almost like the work of God when we went to sleep the light came back on and we were able to sleep fresher. The next day we left. It was a day that I will never forget because of how strange it was.

That was the only survival experience that I had to date, it was an unforgettable day that I remember clearly to this day, this shows that even if everything goes wrong  something good can come out, in the dark there can be light, you just have to remember to turn it on

My Survival Sory. By Giancarlo Sosa Morgado

Once when I was visiting Puerto Vallarta with
my mother and we went to the beach.
We were swimming all day and from 6 in the afternoon the
tide rose and we decided to leave, we must bear
in mind that at that age I still did not know swim
and my mom wasn't a great swimmer either.
So we headed for the exit but we had to go through
a stone path like a bridge or through the sand,
risking a sea wave grabbing you.
Since I wasn't wearing flip-flops I decided to run as fast as
possible through the sand but unfortunately a
wave grabbed me and my towel.
Luckily another wave came after me and miraculously threw me
to the shore and I managed to grab a rock

My Survival Story. By Maritere Morales

Hello, today I will tell you a very shocking story that happened to me a few years ago, everything starts like this...
My mom asked me if I would accompany the Altabrisa supermarket on a normal day when I was 8, I was on the passenger side, and when it was time we parked.
I saw a very small car full of people, literally, no one else was there. At that moment, my mom got out of the car and it was literally in a matter of seconds that I turned to see my mom get out and I turned to see the car lock to get off also when suddenly, I see that the man in the car getting out very quickly and trying to force my door to get in. Thank God the lock was on and nothing happened.
When the man saw that he could not open the car he ran away from the parking lot it was a matter of no more than 10 seconds but I still wonder what would have happened if the safety had been unlocked.

My Survival Story. By Diego Herrera Esquivel.

With nothing but the clothes on my back and a small survival kit, I found myself stranded in the middle of the dense jungle. I had no clue about how I arrived or how to get out, yet one thing was without a doubt: I had to stay alive.

I quickly realized that the jungle was a cruel place as the days passed. I could get deeper into danger with each step. I fought for my life every time I was in this place.

My top priorities were water and food. In the wild, I needed to find a way to stay hydrated and get food. I searched from small animals and insects to roots and fruits. I learned how to start a fire to cook my meals and make traps and snares.

I needed to be careful with the apes that inhabited these lands. I had to keep an eye out for spiders, snakes, and even jaguars all the time. My heart raced at the sound of every bush rustle or twig snap.

I came face to face with a huge python one night. Its muscular body twisted around me as its dark eyes shone. I was aware that I would become its dinner if I did not act quickly. To break free from its hold, I fought with all my might and employed every strategy I could think of. I was finally able to escape after what seemed like an eternity.

I started to feel like I was losing my mind as the days turned into weeks. My health had deteriorated as a result of the constant struggle to survive. I was completely exhausted and dehydrated. But I didn't give up.

I finally came across a river after what seemed like an eternity. I followed its banks until I came across a village, where I was able to obtain the assistance I required to return to civilization.

I had changed as a result of the event. I had demonstrated to myself that I could do anything by surviving the jungle. I had figured out how to be clever, to think and react quickly, and to never surrender.

My Survival Story. By Nicolás Gonzalez Herrera

When I went camping with my family and uncle when I was 12 years old I had to stay alone for a little while in the woods, this is how it happened.

When me and my family arrived at the campsite we had to set up our stuff like a fire, so my dad and uncle decided to go look for some wood and sticks for the fire. I was staying with my mom but that didn't last long. She told me she had forgotten something in the car, which wasn't too far away so she told me to stay in my place and wait for either her or my uncle and dad to come back, so when she left I was there in the woods alone.

I wasn't that scared but I didn't like being there alone, especially with all the bugs and flies around me. I was just sitting still waiting for them till I saw something! It was one of those long insects with a lot of legs, it wasn't dangerous I think but I didn't want it anywhere near me so I quickly jumped out of my place scared, while I saw the little ugly thing move slowly I was thinking on what to do.

I got a plan in my mind and started executing it, my plan was to crush the thing with the small portable refrigerator next to me, And I did just that. But no matter how many times I tried to crush the thing it just didn't die, every time I placed it on top of the bug and lifted it was still alive! In one of those crushes, I got a bit too close and the bug was able to get really close to my feet, I was really scared so I let out what I think was a medium scream.

My mom arrived just in time a bit scared as well because she heard me scream. She asked me what happened and I explained the situation, after that she did the easiest and most obvious solution to my problem. She grabbed a stick on the ground and just tossed the bug away with it. I was ashamed I didn't think of that at first but I thanked my mom. Sometime later my dad and uncle came back, lit the fire and we had a fun and nice night there. It's not really a big survival experience but I consider it something at least.

 Survival Story

Many years ago I went to the beach with my family, and we got into the sea, it was like a low part and a deep one and after that, it was much lower, so I went with my cousins to that part, but the tide pushed us forward and forward until we were in the deep one, and we almost drown, but an aunt, fortunately, saw us and swam where we were.

Drinking at Age 21- By Amber Bertens Lee.

 Drinking at age 21

I think this is a topic that is always discussed, but I also think I agree with people drinking at age 21. At the end of the day, when you’re 21 you’re already an adult who can make their own decisions, and yes, I suppose there are people who aren’t mature enough at that age but I guess it depends on the person. It's your life! Do whatever you think is good for you.

Having a 2.month summer break from school- By Keyla St. Pierre.

2MONTHS SUMMER BREAK FROM SCHOOL

Personally, I totally agree with having 2 months of break. Because even if we are getting older, we are still kids and deserve to enjoy life without having to worry about the assignments to submit.
I tend to think that school is nice but with moderation. If you ask me, I also think that waking up that early for school isn't normal. Teenagers need more sleep than adults.

Anyways, I think the summer breaks are good.

Driving at Age 16. By Zamia Guerrero

 Driving at age 16.

I don't disagree with the idea of teenagers being able to drive at 16, but I don't completely agree either.

I think it certainly depends on the strength that the person has for driving and especially if they have a driving certification and had previously taken driving lessons.

I say this because, to my mind, teenagers at 16 are not always fully mature for something that requires an increased level of responsibility such as driving.

I understand the purpose of this law but maybe we should spare the people that clearly aren't sufficiently prepared to dominate the steering wheel and avert from perpetrating car accidents, perhaps even remove the age of 16 to officially 18 with a license.

Drinking at At Age 21. By Luisa Fernanda Blandon Díaz.

In my opinion, drinking at age 21 is appropriate. I think that this is an age where people reach a certain maturity (or at least most of them); and even though alcohol is something that is prejudicial to health, if used responsibly and with moderation I don’t see anything wrong with consuming it once in a while. Of course while being old enough to do so, and not exceeding the recommended amount.

At the same time, I do believe that although I’m in favor of drinking at age 21, there should be some rules or regulations that have to be taken in order to keep everyone safe. For instance, not drinking and driving, which is the cause of many car accidents and deaths.

In conclusion, I agree that people who are 21 and above should be allowed to drink, while obviously taking the right precautions when doing so.

Should we have a 2-month summer brake? By Daniela Alam-

 2-Month summer break from school

I disagree because we should have a little more vacation time since in the whole year we have about ten months of classes and in the end, around June, we are not even doing anything else but going because if we dont go they keep dropping us points so instead of going to the school,  we could change that month of doing nothing in the school to have one more month of vacations.

I mean it´s Okay two months but we could have one more.

 My Survival Story (Fiction)

It was March 27th, 2017, around 8 o’clock at night. I was with my mom and my grandma. Our destiny was our house after a long day. It was very cold that day and I had a strange feeling inside, I thought that something bad was going to happen. We were talking about how good the music was, and we were listening to the radio. But then, I heard the sound of a car that was driving very fast and then a said “Mom, there is a car that is driving very fast”, and my mom said  “Maybe is a drunk person or something else” and then I hear a *Crack*.

Then I thought that time stops, I could see how our car crashed into something, like a tree.

Then I remembered that we were confused because of the extreme movement. And then my grandma said “Do we just have an accident? Are you okay?” I was worried because my mom didn’t say anything, and then I see that she was in shock. Then I saw that she had some cuts because of the broken window, and so did I. My grandma didn’t have an injury, she was okay.

After that I remembered that I slept, my mom said that I hit my head and because of the adrenaline I was still awake but then I passed out.

After a few weeks, I recovered and my mom too, I felt very frightened because of the accident but then I felt confident again.

Anna´s Survival Story. By Miguel Pech Gomez.

This is a History that I´ve seen a few years ago.

in short:

There was this girl, I don't remember her name, but we will call her Anna.

Anna was kidnapped on her 17th birthday, by an unknown man, later at a party, then she was

obligated, to serve to live a sexual assistant. For 5 years she was living this life, but she never

had an Amber Alert, because the kidnapper, had carried her to see her family, she was being supervised

by the kidnapper, so if she said something, her family would be killed by him.

Then the kidnapper was caught and all his “company” was “destroyed” or “eliminated” so she was free,

later than 5 years, she was free, and she uploaded her story to Reddit where I read it years ago,

I think it was in 2019.

Now if I´m not bad she is out of rehabilitation, but I really cried the first time I read it.

And if I´m not wrong, this happened in México, like in the north of the country.

My Survival Story. By Lupita Paredes Escalante.

 MY SURVIVAL EXPERIENCE

I was driving in my car in the hallway because I had rented a cabin in the woods for a 3-day vacation. When I was about to arrive, a deer came out of the woods, and hit my car with its antlers, causing the car to flip over.

Fortunately, I only had a few scrapes, but a little piece of glass went through my leg (luckily I had a first aid kit). I had no signal to communicate. So I wrapped a bandage around my leg and waited for the pain to reduce. 30 minutes later, I got out of the car and arrived at the house in the forest, a little weak.

There was only a bed and a bathroom. I spent 2 days looking for food in the forest and there was none. I collected water from a nearby river and filtered it to make it drinkable. On the second day, I collected some branches and made a bonfire. It gave off smoke and reached the city as a signal for help.

Several ambulances and firefighters arrived to rescue me and they admitted me to the hospital, I came out safe and sound.

My Survival Story. By Roberto Monforte

Country Path to Maxcanú

Out of nowhere the road in Maxcanú there was replete with macacos and jaguars. I was on a backpacking trip in the tropical peninsula when a storm hit. The rain came down in sheets and the wind howled through the trees. I quickly realized that I was not prepared for this kind of weather and that I needed to find shelter if I was going to survive.

I searched for a place to ride out the storm and found a small cave on the side of a hill. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. I gathered some leaves and branches to create a makeshift roof and settled in for the night. The storm lasted for three days, and during that time I subsisted on a diet of fruit and nuts that I gathered from the surrounding area. I also collected rainwater in a makeshift container I fashioned from a large leaf.

When the storm finally passed, I emerged from the cave to find that the landscape had changed dramatically. Trees had fallen, rivers had flooded, and the trails I had been following were gone. I realized that I was completely lost. I knew that I needed to find a way to signal for help, so I built a large fire on the beach. The smoke was visible for miles around, and after a few hours, a search and rescue team arrived. They brought food, water, and a map, and helped me navigate my way back to civilization.

Although the experience was terrifying, I learned a lot about survival during my time on the Umán-Maxcanú road. I learned the importance of shelter, water, and food, and how to signal for help in an emergency. Most importantly, I learned to never underestimate the power of nature and to always be prepared for the unexpected.

Thailand´s Soccer Team Survivors. By Julia Lambre de Oliveira

In June 2018, 12 Thai soccer players and their coach chose to explore the nearby Tham Luang cave, one of Thailand's longest, after their practice.

The 11 to 16-year-old boys and their coach, a 25-year-old man, dove into the water and started investigating the cave. They moved further inside when a flash flood struck, ultimately reaching a raised platform four kilometers into the cave system. The lads were trapped in the twisted cave network for 17 days due to the flood. They went without sustenance for the first nine days and drank water from stalactites that were dripping. But they didn't just wait around.

The boys took turns digging a 16-foot hole into the cave wall after realizing they were trapped and tried to escape. To conserve energy and stop worrying about their feet, they meditated. They were then discovered by British divers who had left the cave's entrance three hours earlier.

But just getting through that long was only half the fight. As rescuers planned how to carefully extract the boys from the tunnel, Thai Seals went inside to assist and hang out with the boys. Divers recovered each player as well as their coach over the span of a three-day mission.

Each child had to swim for hours through turns and excruciatingly close squeezes while donning a full-face diving mask, tethered between two divers. All survived and were able to rapidly resume a normal, healthy life after the rescue thanks to the efforts of the Thai Navy Seals and the international diving community.

Tragically, one former Thai Navy Seal perished while helping with the evacuation.
