JONATHAN PEACOCK
He was born on 28th/ may /1993 in Cambridge. When he was 5 he contracted meningitis, and after an exhausting battle, his right leg was amputated below the knee.
He has won Paralympic, world, and European sprint titles between 2012 and 2014 and safely retained his Paralympic crown at Rio 2016.
He was first inspired when he watched the Beijing Paralympics Association talent identification programme and in no time he was competing in major events.
When he was 19 years old he became the world’s fastest amputee sprinter when he won the US trial with 10.85. His time was .06 seconds faster than the previous T44 record set in 2007.
He has inspired so many people, whether they have a disability or not, showing the world that having a disability or a condition does not make you useless or incapacitated.
